2025 Becoming Empowerment Program

Theme: Raising Female Leaders

The 2025 Becoming Empowerment Program, held on 8th March 2025 to commemorate International Women’s Day, was a bold and timely call to raise a new generation of confident, capable, and purpose-driven female leaders.

Set against the backdrop of a global celebration of women’s strength, resilience, and contribution to society, the event created a meaningful platform to speak directly into the lives of adolescent girls at a critical stage of identity formation and leadership development.

With the powerful theme, “Raising Female Leaders,” the program brought together girls from seven secondary schools for a transformational experience that challenged them to see beyond stereotypes, societal limitations, fear, and self-doubt.

It was a day filled with inspiration, empowerment, reflection, and possibility.

One after another, notable and phenomenal speakers, including the Convener, Dr. Yetunde Olagbuji, poured wisdom, truth, encouragement, and vision into the hearts of the girls. Through deeply impactful sessions, the participants were challenged to rise above limitation and embrace the reality that leadership is not reserved for a select few, it is a responsibility that can be nurtured from adolescence.

The girls were reminded that they are not too young to lead.
They are not too small to matter.
And they are not too ordinary to make an extraordinary difference.

The program created a safe and inspiring atmosphere where the girls were encouraged to:

  • Believe in their voice and value
  • Build confidence and self-worth
  • Develop leadership capacity
  • Embrace discipline, purpose, and excellence
  • Recognize their potential to influence their generation positively

For many of the participants, the 2025 edition was more than a school program, it was a life-defining encounter. It gave language to their dreams, courage to their aspirations, and permission to begin seeing themselves as leaders in the making.

It was a day of planting seeds.
Seeds of confidence.
Seeds of vision.
Seeds of identity.
Seeds of leadership.

And those seeds continue to matter.

Because when a girl is empowered to lead, a future is rewritten.
